Terms of use

Effective 19 October 2026. We will have these terms reviewed by a Kenyan advocate and will update them if anything needs to change.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use the KenyaPlus website. By using it, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. KenyaPlus is run from Nairobi, Kenya. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.

2. What KenyaPlus is — and isn't

KenyaPlus is a free travel information and trip-planning aid. It helps you explore places in Kenya, build and check a plan, and estimate a budget.

It is not a travel agent, tour operator or booking service. We don't sell, reserve or guarantee any accommodation, park entry, transport or activity, and we don't take payments. Any booking you make is between you and the provider, on the provider's terms.

3. The information on KenyaPlus

We take reasonable care to keep information accurate, and every fact is labelled Verified, Live, Estimated or Unconfirmed (how we check information). But fees, timetables, opening hours, rules, park management and road conditions change, sometimes after we check them, and estimates are only estimates.

Before you book or travel, confirm prices, availability, rules and entry requirements with the provider or the relevant authority. KenyaPlus does not give visa, immigration, health, safety, legal or financial advice; use official sources and qualified professionals for those.

4. Suggestions and AI features

Suggested plans and Ask Kenya answers — whether from our rules-based planner or an AI model — are checked against KenyaPlus information and labelled, but they can still be incomplete or wrong. Treat them as a starting point and use your own judgement.

5. Your trips and share links

Trips you save are kept in your own browser, and you are responsible for keeping a copy (use Export all on My trips). A share link contains the trip itself, so anyone with the link can see it. Don't put personal details you wouldn't want others to see into trip names or notes.

6. Acceptable use

When using KenyaPlus, you must not:

  • break the law, including the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems, probe them for weaknesses, or disrupt or overload them;
  • get around usage limits, or copy the site's content in bulk with automated tools;
  • use the site to send unlawful, harmful or misleading content, including through Ask Kenya.

We may limit or block access that breaks these rules.

7. Content, names and logo

The KenyaPlus name and logo, and KenyaPlus's own text, guides and design, are protected by copyright and other laws, including Kenya's Copyright Act, 2001. You may read, print and share links to any page for personal, non-commercial use. Please ask us before reusing our content elsewhere. Facts from other organisations are credited to their sources, and photos are used under the licences shown on our photo credits page.

We link to official sources and other websites so you can check information yourself. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or terms. If we ever add sponsored listings or affiliate links, they will always be labelled (disclosures).

9. Responsibility

KenyaPlus is provided free of charge, as it is and as available. We may change, pause or stop any part of it. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for:

  • decisions you make, or losses you suffer, from relying on information on the site without confirming it as section 3 asks;
  • bookings, services or products from third parties, or their acts or failures;
  • the site being unavailable, or saved trips being lost when browser data is cleared;
  • indirect or consequential losses.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability or any right that cannot be limited or excluded under Kenyan law, including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012, and liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. If you have a complaint, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If we can't, the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to use a consumer or data-protection body, such as the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

11. Changes and contact

We will update these terms as KenyaPlus changes — for example, if accounts or paid features are added — and show the new effective date at the top. Changes apply from that date. Questions: contact us.
