Where we are today
- Most destination descriptions were checked against official and reference sources on 16 October 2026 — each page links its sources. Anything we could not confirm stays labelled Unconfirmed.
- Sources go out of date too. For example, Amboseli National Park was handed to Kajiado County in November 2025, then in July 2026 the High Court paused the takeover while a challenge is heard. So we record a recheck date for every verified fact.
- The only prices we show are park entry fees from official tariffs — the Kenya Wildlife Service tariff and, for the Maasai Mara, the Narok County Finance Act — each with its date and trust label. We do not show other prices or opening hours yet, because we have not verified them. Entry requirements appear only in our eTA guide, taken from the official portal and rechecked monthly.
- Journey times are Estimated: the driving time on the road route between places, from openrouteservice using OpenStreetMap road data, plus 20% for stops, towns and slower traffic. Where no route is held, we fall back to straight-line distance × 1.3 at 50 km/h. Real journeys can be faster or much slower. An official source is not automatically current
Every verified fact records when it was checked and when it should be rechecked. For park rules, entry requirements and operator licensing we prioritise the relevant Kenyan authorities. When a fact changes or we get one wrong, we record the fix on our corrections page.
